Pacific Northwest Weekly Grain Summary

   Pacific Northwest Market Summary:  Cash wheat bids for July delivery ended the 
reporting week on Thursday, July 12, mixed compared to week ago noon bids for July 
delivery.  

   September wheat futures ended the reporting week on Thursday, July 12, lower as 
follows compared to week ago closes:  Chicago wheat futures were 21 cents lower at 
4.8450, Kansas City wheat futures were 22 cents lower at 4.8125 and Minneapolis 
wheat futures trended 17 cents lower at 5.3050.  Chicago September corn futures 
trended 6.50 cents lower at 3.4575 and August soybean futures closed 5.50 cents 
lower at 8.3375.

   Bids for US 1 Soft White Wheat delivered to Portland in unit trains or barges 
during July for ordinary protein trended five to 18.00 cents per bushel higher 
compared to week ago prices for the same delivery period from 5.85-6.08.  Some 
exporters were not issuing bids for nearby delivery.  White club wheat premiums 
were minus five to zero cents per bushel over soft white wheat bids this week and 
last week.  One year ago bids for US 1 Soft White Wheat any protein for July 
delivery by unit trains and barges to Portland were 5.47-5.58 and bids for White 
Club Wheat were 5.47-5.63.  Forward month bids for soft white wheat ordinary 
protein were as follows: August New Crop 5.85-6.00, September 5.87-5.96, October 
and November 5.9125-6.02.  One year ago, forward month bids for soft white wheat 
for any protein were as follows: August New Crop 5.47-5.58, September 5.52-5.62, 
October 5.6550-5.66 and November 5.70-5.7050.

   Bids for US 1 Soft White Wheat guaranteed maximum 10.5 percent protein during 
July trended steady to five cents per bushel higher compared to week ago prices for 
the same delivery period from 5.85-5.90.  Some exporters were not issuing bids for 
nearby delivery.  White club wheat premiums for guaranteed maximum 10.5 percent 
protein soft white wheat this week were zero cents per bushel over soft white wheat 
bids this week and last week.  One year ago bids for US 1 Soft White Wheat 
guaranteed maximum 10.5 percent protein for July delivery by unit trains and barges 
to Portland were 5.47-5.60 and bids for White Club Wheat were 5.47-5.60. Forward 
month bids for soft white wheat guaranteed 10.5 percent proteins were as follows:  
August New Crop 5.85-5.95, September 5.87-5.95, October and November 5.9625-6.00.  
One year ago, forward month bids for soft white wheat for any protein were as 
follows:  August New Crop 5.47-5.60, September 5.52-5.65, October 5.6550-5.75 and 
November 5.7050-5.75.

   Bids for 11.5 percent protein US 1 Hard Red Winter Wheat for July delivery 
trended six to 26 cents per bushel lower than week ago bids for the same delivery 
period.  Some exporters were not issuing bids for nearby delivery.  This week, bids 
were as follows:  July 6.0125-6.1125, August New Crop 5.8125-6.0625, September 
5.9125-6.1125, October 6.1575-6.3575 and November 6.2075-6.3575.

   Bids for non-guaranteed 14.0 percent protein US 1 Dark Northern Spring Wheat for 
Portland delivery during July trended 36 to 38 cents per bushel lower than week ago 
bids for the same delivery period.  Some exporters were not issuing bids for nearby 
delivery.  This week, bids for non-guaranteed 14 percent protein were as follows:  
July 6.3050-6.4550, August New Crop 6.3050-6.5050, September 6.3050-6.4050 and 
October 6.4925-6.5925.

   Coarse feeding grains:  Bids for US 2 Yellow Corn delivered full coast Pacific 
Northwest - BN shuttle trains for July delivery trended 13.50 cents per bushel 
lower than week ago bids for the same delivery period at 4.4075.  Some exporters 
were not issuing bids for nearby delivery.  Forward month corn bids were as 
follows:  August 4.4075-4.4575, September 4.4575-4.4675, October 4.4725, November 
4.4725-4.4925 and December 4.5125.  Bids for US 1 Yellow Soybeans delivered full 
coast Pacific Northwest - BN shuttle trains for July delivery were not available as 
most exporters were not issuing bids for nearby delivery.  Forward month soybean 
bids were as follows:  August not available.  Bids for US 2 Heavy White Oats for 
July delivery trended steady at 3.7750 per bushel.

   Pacific Northwest Export News:  There were 12 grain vessels in Columbia River 
ports on Thursday, July 12, with five docked compared to 15 last week with four 
docked.  There were no new confirmed export sales this week from the Commodity 
Credit Corporation (CCC) of the USDA.
