Futures pricing suggests that Australian equities will gain about 0.1 per cent when the market opens on Tuesday for a shortened trading week. Atlas Funds Management portfolio manager Hugh Dive expects the local bourse to reach a new record high soon; it is currently just 0.8 per cent shy of its February peak. The local sharemarket's rally in 2025 has been at least partly driven by global investors, amid concerns about the Trump administration's trade war. The S&P/ASX 200 rose 0.27 per cent to 8,515.7 points on Friday, and the Australian dollar reached a six-month high of $US65.37..
