(MENAFN)

The export of important agri-commodities of India augmented by 43.4 percent from about USD5 billion dollars to USD7 billion dollars during the period from April to September of the current year, according to the Agriculture Ministry this Saturday.

According to a report by the ministry, the foremost commodity groups that recorded an increasing export were groundnut with 35 percent, refined sugar 104 percent, wheat 206 percent, Basmati Rice 13 percent and Non-Basmati Rice 105 percent along with others.

This growth in the export in the middle of the coronavirus pandemic was, according to the ministry, due to the constant and rigorous work and effort of the government of India in order to enhance the agricultural export.

The balance of trade for the stated period, according to the ministry, was positive at about USD1.2 billion dollars in comparison with the previous year with about USD284 million dollars.
