UK cider producer Aston Manor is entering the hard seltzer category in its home market through the launch of Sol Duc. The brand, which hits UK shelves on 25 September, comprises three flavours - Strawberry & Lime, Raspberry & Rose and Rhubarb & Ginger.

The range is a blend of sparkling water, pure vodka and fruit flavours. Each 33cl cans contain 95 calories and is vegan, gluten-free and has no added sugar, sweeteners or colours.

"The demand for lighter alcohol products in the UK is unfaltering," said Aston Manor's marketing controller's Calli O'Brien. "It is our ambition to make conscious drinking easier by creating a healthier, alcoholic alternative that won't compromise on taste.

"Through our transatlantic relationship with the Seattle Cider Co, which is based in Washington, we have gained invaluable insight and understanding of the hard seltzer category following its phenomenal success in the US. With Sol Duc, we're aiming to emulate that success in the UK."

Aston Manor is owned by farming and food cooperative Agrial Group, which acquired Seattle Cider Co four years ago.

Sol Duc is named after a waterfall in Olympic National Park in Washington.
