SC Farm Report on Tuesday

    Cattle at SC Auctions on Monday:  Compared to last week, all classes 
of feeder cattle were steady to 3.00 lower. Feeder Steers: Medium and 
Large 1-2 400-500 lbs 140.00-160.00, 500-600 lbs 129.00-142.00.  Feeder 
Bulls: Medium and Large 1-2 400-500 lbs 135.00-155.00, 500-600 lbs 
129.00-138.00. Feeder Heifers: Medium and Large 1-2 400-500 lbs 119.00-
129.00, 500-600 lbs 113.00-123.00.  Slaughter cows were steady to 2.00 
higher. Slaughter cows:  Breakers 75-80% lean 44.00-59.00; Boners 85-85% 
lean 41.00-61.00; Lean 85-90% lean 42.00-55.00; Lean low dressing 29.00-
37.00. Slaughter bulls were steady.  Slaughter Bulls: 1300-2060 lbs 
41.00-77.00. 
   Cow/Calf Pairs: Medium and Large 1-2 905-1395 lbs Young Age to Aged 
Cows with 145-355 lbs calves 560.00-1025.00 per pair.  
   Hogs on Monday: Plant delivered weighted average. National Direct 
Barrows & Gilts US 1 50-54% lean 250-300 lbs was 0.40 higher at 40.45.  
Sows live price 300-450 lbs 29.20; 450-500 lbs 32.79; 500-550 lbs 36.21. 
   SC Grain on Tuesday.  Corn was 7 to 8 cents lower; elevator bids 3.99-
4.11, processor bids 4.01-4.56.  Soybeans were mostly 10 to 11 cents 
lower and one location was 4 cents higher; elevator bids 8.18-8.68, 
processor bid 8.93 and export 8.93.  New Crop Wheat was 2 to 8 cents 
lower; elevator bids 4.81-5.20. 
   Cotton on Tuesday. Southeast base price for 41-4/34 grade was 0.63 
lower at 70.36. 
   Fruits & Vegetables:  Prices paid to SC growers at the Columbia State 
Farmers Market on Tuesday.  Beets dz bnchs Red type 20.00, 25 lb sks
