SC Farm Report on Thursday  
  	
   Cattle at SC Auctions on Wednesday:  Compared to last week, there were 
too few comparable sales to establish feeder steer and feeder bull 
trends.  Feeder heifers were 2.00 to 4.00 higher.  Feeder Steers: Medium 
and Large 1-2 400-500 lbs 144.00-150.00, 500-600 lbs 130.00-140.00. 
Feeder Bulls: Medium and Large 1-2 400-500 lbs 137.50-150.00, 550-600 lbs 
120.00.  Feeder Heifers: Medium and Large 1-2 400-500 lbs 120.00-136.00, 
500-600 lbs 114.00-125.00. Slaughter cows were mostly steady.  Slaughter 
cows: Breakers 75-80% lean 42.00-48.00; Boners 85-85% lean 41.00-60.00; 
Lean 85-90% lean 40.00-49.00; Lean low dressing 30.00-40.00. Slaughter 
bulls were too few to trend. Slaughter Bulls: 1105-1905 lbs 60.00-69.00. 
   Cow/Calf Pairs: Medium and Large 1-2 920-1330 lbs Young Age Cows with 
65-560 lbs calves 750.00-1525.00 per pair.  
   Hogs on Wednesday: Plant delivered weighted average. National Direct 
Barrows & Gilts US 1 50-54% lean 240-300 lbs was at 40.17.  Sows live 
price 300-450 lbs 26.46; 450-500 lbs 30.96; 500-550 lbs 33.68. 
   SC Grain on Thursday.  Corn was 1 to 2 cents lower; elevator bids 4.05-
4.17, processor bids 4.07-4.62.  Soybeans were 1 cent higher; 
elevator bids 8.41-8.91, processor bid 9.16, export bid 9.31. New crop 
wheat was 2 to 4 cents lower; elevator bids 4.94-5.34. 
   Cotton on Thursday. Southeast base price for 41-4/34 grade was 0.38 
lower at 70.89. 
   Fruits & Vegetables:  Prices paid to SC growers at the Columbia State 
Farmers Market on Thursday.  Beets dz bnchs Red type 20.00, 25 lb sks
