SC Farm Report on Wednesday

   Cattle at SC Auctions on Tuesday:  Compared to last week, there were 
too few comparable sales to establish trends.  Feeder Steers: Medium and 
Large 1-2 400-500 lbs 140.00-165.00, 500-600 lbs 136.00.  Feeder Bulls: 
Medium and Large 1-2 400-500 lbs 134.00-170.00; 500-600 lbs 136.00-
139.00.  Feeder Heifers: Medium and Large 1-2 400-500 lbs 124.00-143.00; 
500-600 lbs 123.00-134.00.  Slaughter cows: Breakers 75-80% lean 55.00; 
Boners 80-85% lean 60.00-71.00; Lean 85-90% lean N/A; Lean Low Dressing 
30.00-45.00.  Slaughter bulls: 1145-2275 lbs 72.00-96.00.
   Cow/Calf Pairs:  Small 2 600-805 lbs Young to Middle Age Cows with 
115-210 lbs calves 600.00-700.00 per pair.  
   Hogs on Tuesday: Plant delivered weighted average. National Direct 
Barrows & Gilts US 1 50-54% lean 240-300 lbs was 2.40 higher at 36.62.  
Sows live price 300-450 lbs 34.37; 450-500 lbs 39.43; 500-550 lbs 42.56.
   SC Grain on Wednesday:  New Crop corn was 1 to 2 cents higher; 
elevator bids 4.02-4.29, processor bids 4.32-4.62.  Soybeans were 1 to 2 
cents higher; elevator bids 8.27-8.63, processor bid 9.12, and export 
9.12.  New crop wheat bids were mostly 8 to 9 cents lower and one 
location was 1 cent higher; elevator bids 4.48-4.88.  
   Cotton on Wednesday. Southeast base price for 41-4/34 grade was 0.03 
lower at 68.91.  
   Fruits & Vegetables: Prices paid to SC growers at the Columbia State 
Farmers Market on Wednesday.  Beets 25 lb sks Red type topped 16.00; 
Cilantro ctns bnchd 30s 10.00; Greens dz bnchs Turnips/Mustards 20.00, 
ctns bnchd Collards 30.00, 1.35 buctns bnchd Kale 24s 20.00, 1 1/9 buctns
