SC Farm Report on Thursday
Cattle at SC Auctions on Wednesday: Compared to last week, feeder
cattle were steady to 2.00 lower based on limited comparable sales.
Feeder Steers: Medium and Large 1-2 400-500 lbs 135.00-147.50, 500-600
lbs 132.00-138.00. Feeder Bulls: Medium and Large 1-2 400-500 lbs
130.00-145.00, 500-600 lbs 120.00-135.00. Feeder Heifers: Medium and
Large 1-2 400-500 lbs 125.00-136.00, 500-600 lbs 120.00-128.00.
Slaughter bulls and slaughter cows were steady. Slaughter cows:
Breakers 75-80% lean 52.00-63.00; Boners 85-85% lean 55.00-71.00; Lean
85-90% lean 48.00-58.00; Lean low dressing 41.00-50.00. Slaughter Bulls:
970-2075 lbs 68.00-91.00.
Cow/Calf Pairs: Medium and Large 1-2 955-110 lbs Young to Middle Age
cows with 150-300 lbs calves 1000.00-1025.00. Medium 2 865-900 lbs Young
to Middle Age Cows with calves under 150 lbs 500.00-800.00 per pair.
Small 1-2 820 lbs Young Age cow with calf under 150 lbs 900.00 per pair.
Hogs on Wednesday: Plant delivered weighted average. National Direct
Barrows & Gilts US 1 50-54% lean 240-300 lbs was 0.76 lower at 61.04.
Sows live price 300-450 lbs 57.54; 450-500 lbs 64.36; 500-550 lbs 67.46.
SC Grain on Thursday. New Crop Corn was 9 to 10 cents lower;
elevator bids 3.97-4.03, processor bids 4.02-4.32. Soybeans were 11 to
14 cents lower; elevator bids 7.25-7.68, processor bid 8.23, export bid
8.23. New Crop Wheat was 9 to 11 cents lower; elevator bids 4.09-4.39.
Cotton on Thursday. Southeast base price for 41-4/34 grade was 2.08
lower at 66.98.
