SC Farm Report on Wednesday

   Cattle at SC auctions on Tuesday:  Compared to last week, there were 
too few comparable sales to establish trends. Feeder Steers: Medium and 
Large 1-2 450-500 lbs 144.00-155.00, 550-600 lbs 135.00-137.50.  Feeder 
Bulls: Medium and Large 1-2 400-500 lbs 130.00-136.00; 500-600 lbs 
120.00-135.00.  Feeder Heifers: Medium and Large 1-2 400-500 lbs 123.00-
129.00; 500-600 lbs 117.50-126.50. Slaughter cows: Breakers 75-80% lean 
61.00-67.00; Boners 80-85% lean 58.00-68.00; Lean 85-90% lean 50.00-
60.00; Lean Low Dressing 40.00-50.00.  Slaughter bulls: 1000-2045 lbs 
58.00-96.00.
   Cow/Calf Pairs:  Medium and Large 1-2 780-1065 lbs young to middle 
aged cow with calves under 300 lbs 550.00-790.00 per pair.  Small 1-2 
630-635 lbs Young age cow with calves under 150 lbs 500.00-540.00 per 
pair.
   Hogs on Tuesday: Plant delivered weighted average. National Direct 
Barrows & Gilts US 1 50-54% lean 240-300 lbs was 0.22 higher at 61.94.  
Sows live price 300-450 lbs 54.77; 450-500 lbs 59.38; 500-550 lbs 61.09.
   SC Grain on Wednesday:  New crop Corn was 1 cent lower; elevator bids 
4.63-4.66, processor bids 4.68-4.98.  Soybeans were 16 cents higher; 
elevator bids 7.97-8.27, processor bid 8.82, and export 8.82. Wheat bids 
were mostly 14 cents lower; elevator bids 4.71-5.15.  
   Cotton on Wednesday. Southeast base price for 41-4/34 grade was 0.41 
lower at 65.81.  
   Fruits & Vegetables: Prices paid to SC growers at the Columbia State
