SC Farm Report on Tuesday

   Cattle at SC Auctions on Monday:  Compared to last week, feeder 
cattle were steady to 2.00 higher. Feeder Steers: Medium and Large 1-2 
450-500 lbs 137.00-140.00, 500-600 lbs 130.00-143.50.  Feeder Bulls: 
Medium and Large 1-2 400-450 lbs 134.00-145.00, 500-600 lbs 124.00-
131.00.  Feeder Heifers: Medium and Large 1-2 400-500 lbs 117.00-130.00, 
500-600 lbs 112.00-122.00.  Slaughter cows were steady to 5.00 higher. 
Slaughter cows: Breakers 75-80% lean 55.00-76.00; Boners 85-85% lean 
53.00-76.00; Lean 85-90% lean 51.00-64.00; Lean low dressing 44.00-50.00.  
Slaughter bulls were steady to 4.00 higher.  Slaughter Bulls: 980-2215 
lbs 65.00-101.00. 
   Cow/Calf Pairs:  Medium 2 810-1060 lbs Young to Middle aged cows with 
calves under 300 lbs 610.00-1125.00 per pair. Medium 2 810-995 lbs Young 
to Middle Age cows with calves over 300 lbs 1075.00-1275.00 per pair. 
   Hogs on Monday: Plant delivered weighted average. National Direct 
Barrows & Gilts US 1 50-54% lean 250-300 lbs was 0.52 lower at 58.41.  
Sows live price 300-450 lbs 44.81; 450-500 lbs 49.58; 500-550 lbs 54.80. 
   SC Grain on Tuesday: New crop corn was 12 to 13 cents higher; elevator 
bids 4.71-4.77, processor bids 4.76-5.06.  Soybeans were steady to 1 cent 
higher; elevator bids 7.84-8.29, processor bid 8.69, and export 8.69. 
Wheat was mostly 10 to 13 cents lower; elevator bids 5.13-5.43. 
   Cotton on Tuesday. Southeast base price for 41-4/34 grade was 0.34
lower at 63.15. 
   Fruits & Vegetables:  Prices paid to SC growers at the Columbia State 
Farmers Market on Tuesday.  Beans bucrts Snap type 25.00, KY type 25.00;
