SC Farm Report on Tuesday

   Cattle at SC Auctions on Monday:  Compared to last week, feeder 
steers and feeder bulls were steady to 2.00 lower.  Feeder heifers were 
2.00 lower to 2.00 higher. Feeder Steers: Medium and Large 1-2 400-500 
lbs 134.00-145.00, 500-600 lbs 128.00-140.00.  Feeder Bulls: Medium and 
Large 1-2 400-450 lbs 124.00-137.50, 500-600 lbs 126.00-131.00.  Feeder 
Heifers: Medium and Large 1-2 400-500 lbs 118.00-128.00, 500-600 lbs 
115.00-125.00.  Slaughter cows were steady to 3.00 higher. Slaughter 
cows: Breakers 75-80% lean 59.00-73.00; Boners 85-85% lean 52.00-77.00; 
Lean 85-90% lean 52.00-59.00; Lean low dressing 38.00-53.00.  
Slaughter bulls were steady to 3.00 lower.  Slaughter Bulls: 900-2265 
lbs 65.00-110.00. 
   Cow/Calf Pairs:  Medium and Large 1-2 825-1110 lbs Young to Middle Age 
Cows with calves under 300 lbs 770.00-900.00 per pair.  Small 1-2 715-815 
lbs Young to Middle Age Cows with calves under 300 lbs 620.00-790.00 per 
pair.
   Hogs on Monday: Plant delivered weighted average. National Direct 
Barrows & Gilts US 1 50-54% lean 250-300 lbs was 0.62 lower at 59.23.  
Sows live price 300-450 lbs 41.67; 450-500 lbs 47.17; 500-550 lbs 49.62. 
   SC Grain on Tuesday: New crop corn was 5 to 6 cents lower; elevator 
bids 4.73-4.88, processor bids 4.79-5.39.  Soybeans were 1 cent higher; 
elevator bids 8.38-8.83, processor bid 9.23, and export 9.23. Wheat was 
mostly 6 to 10 cents lower; elevator bids 5.27-5.56. 
   Cotton on Tuesday. Southeast base price for 41-4/34 grade was 0.69 
lower at 63.37. 
   Fruits & Vegetables:  Prices paid to SC growers at the Columbia State 
Farmers Market on Tuesday.  Beets dz bnchs Red and Gold types 20.00, 25
