SC Farm Report on Wednesday

   Cattle at SC auctions on Tuesday:  Compared to last week, feeder 
cattle were steady to 2.00 higher based on limited comparable sales. 
Feeder Steers: Medium and Large 1-2 400-500 lbs 136.00-151.00, 500-600 
lbs 130.00-138.00.  Feeder Bulls: Medium and Large 1-2 400-500 lbs 
129.00-140.00; 500-600 lbs 121.00-135.00.  Feeder Heifers: Medium and 
Large 1-2 400-500 lbs 120.00-128.00; 500-600 lbs 114.00-123.00. Slaughter 
cows were mostly steady based on limited comparable sales. Slaughter 
cows: Breakers 75-80% lean 58.00-65.00; Boners 80-85% lean 53.00-68.00; 
Lean 85-90% lean 53.00-64.00; Lean Low Dressing 35.00-50.00.  Slaughter 
bulls were mostly steady based on limited comparable sales.  Slaughter 
bulls: 1110-1745 lbs 73.00-85.00.
   Cow/Calf Pairs:  Medium and Large 1-2 940-1125 lbs young to middle 
aged cows with calves under 300 lbs 610.00-630.00 per pair.  Small 1-2 
690-885 lbs Young to Middle age cows with calves under 300 lbs 470.00-
790.00 per pair.
   Hogs on Tuesday: Plant delivered weighted average. National Direct 
Barrows & Gilts US 1 50-54% lean 240-300 lbs was 0.91 higher at 58.85. 
Sows live price 300-450 lbs 41.36; 450-500 lbs 45.03; 500-550 lbs 
47.84.
   SC Grain on Wednesday:  New crop Corn was 7 to 9 cents lower; 
elevator bids 4.81-4.98, processor bids 4.86-5.16.  Soybeans were 9 
to 10 cents lower; elevator bids 8.28-8.73, processor bid 9.13, and 
export 9.13.  Wheat bids were 7 to 10 cents lower and one location was 
steady; elevator bids 5.17-5.47.  
   Cotton on Wednesday. Southeast base price for 41-4/34 grade was 0.56 
higher at 63.93.  
   Fruits & Vegetables: Prices paid to SC growers at the Columbia State 
Farmers Market on Wednesday.  Beans 8 lb filmbag Shelled 20.00; Beets dz
