SC Farm Report on Tuesday

   Cattle at SC Auctions on Monday:  Compared to last week, feeder steers 
and feeder bulls were steady to 2.00 higher.  Feeder heifers were steady 
to 2.00 lower.  Feeder Steers: Medium and Large 1-2 400-500 lbs 130.00-
145.00, 500-600 lbs 120.00-143.00.  Feeder Bulls: Medium and Large 1-2 
400-500 lbs 117.00-139.00, 500-600 lbs 113.00-135.00.  Feeder Heifers: 
Medium and Large 1-2 400-500 lbs 115.00-127.00, 500-600 lbs 113.00-
124.00.  Slaughter cows were unevenly steady.  Slaughter cows: Breakers 
75-80% lean 58.00-65.00; Boners 85-85% lean 53.00-72.00; Lean 85-90% lean 
51.00-69.00; Lean low dressing 35.00-54.00.  Slaughter bulls were steady.  
Slaughter Bulls: 1080-2200 lbs 73.00-100.00. 
   Cow/Calf Pairs:  Medium and Large 1-2 955-1030 lbs Young to Middle 
Age Cows with calves under 300 lbs 1050.00-1225.00 per pair.  Small 
1-2 630-760 lbs Young to Middle Age Cows with calves under 300 lbs 
600.00 per pair.
   Hogs on Monday: Plant delivered weighted average. National Direct 
Barrows & Gilts US 1 50-54% lean 250-300 lbs was 0.7 lower at 55.71.  
Sows live price 300-450 lbs 29.81; 450-500 lbs 33.09; 500-550 lbs 37.22. 
   SC Grain on Tuesday:  New crop corn was 3 to 5 cents higher; elevator 
bids 4.60-4.77, processor bids 4.75-5.10.  Soybeans were 2 to 3 cents 
lower; elevator bids 8.10-8.46, processor bid 9.21, and export 9.06. 
Wheat was mostly steady and one location was 3 cents higher; elevator 
bids 4.72-5.07. 
   Cotton on Tuesday. Southeast base price for 41-4/34 grade was 0.50 
higher at 60.29. 
   Fruits & Vegetables:  Prices paid to SC growers at the Columbia State 
Farmers Market on Tuesday.  Beans 8 lb filmbag Shelled 26.00-30.00, Lima 
Shelled Frozen 20.00; Beets 25 lb sks Red/Gold types topped 12.00;
