SC Farm Report on Tuesday

   Cattle at SC Auctions on Monday:  Compared to last week, feeder cattle 
were steady to 2.00 higher.  Feeder Steers: Medium and Large 1-2 400-500 
lbs 129.00-145.00, 500-600 lbs 124.00-146.00.  Feeder Bulls: Medium and 
Large 1-2 400-500 lbs 125.00-136.00, 500-600 lbs 120.00-136.00.  Feeder 
Heifers: Medium and Large 1-2 400-500 lbs 117.00-129.00, 500-600 lbs 
115.00-126.00.  Slaughter cows were steady. Slaughter cows: Breakers 
75-80% lean 60.00-68.00; Boners 85-85% lean 55.00-76.00; Lean 85-90% lean 
52.00-62.00; Lean low dressing 39.00-47.00.  Slaughter bulls were steady.  
Slaughter Bulls: 950-1970 lbs 59.00-104.00. 
   Cow/Calf Pairs:  Medium 2 820-1055 lbs Young to Middle Age Cows with 
calves under 300 lbs 740.00-1025.00 per pair.  Small 1-2 770-795 lbs 
Young to Middle Age Cows with calves under 300 lbs 735.00-750.00 per 
pair.
   Hogs on Monday: Plant delivered weighted average. National Direct 
Barrows & Gilts US 1 50-54% lean 250-300 lbs was 0.09 lower at 63.46.  
Sows live price 300-450 lbs 27.95; 450-500 lbs 31.50; 500-550 lbs 35.87. 
   SC Grain on Tuesday:  New crop corn was 6 to 7 cents lower; elevator 
bids 4.46-4.66, processor bids 4.61-4.96.  Soybeans were 7 to 8 cents 
lower; elevator bids 8.03-8.39, processor bid 9.14, and export 8.99. 
Wheat was mostly 6 to 7 cents lower; elevator bids 4.82-5.17. 
   Cotton on Tuesday. Southeast base price for 41-4/34 grade was 0.90 
lower at 59.87. 
   Fruits & Vegetables:  Prices paid to SC growers at the Columbia State 
Farmers Market on Tuesday.  Beans approx. 27 lb sks Lima Green 20.00-
22.00, Lima Shelled Frozen 20.00; Beets 25 lb sks Red/Gold types topped 
12.00; Blackberries 4 1-qt flats Large 22.00-25.00; Cabbage 50 lb ctns
