SC Farm Report on Tuesday
Cattle at SC Auctions on Monday: Compared to last week, feeder cattle
were 2.00 to 4.00 lower. Feeder Steers: Medium and Large 1-2 400-500 lbs
152.50-171.00, 500-600 lbs 138.00-155.00. Feeder Bulls: Medium and Large
1-2 400-500 lbs 142.50-170.00, 500-600 lbs 124.00-145.00. Feeder
Heifers: Medium and Large 1-2 400-500 lbs 120.00-135.00, 500-600 lbs
115.00-128.00. Slaughter cows were unevenly steady. Slaughter cows:
Breakers 75-80% lean 57.00-75.00; Boners 85-85% lean 55.00-78.00; Lean
85-90% lean 53.00-74.00; Lean low dressing 41.00-59.00. Slaughter bulls
were unevenly steady. Slaughter Bulls: Average Dressing 1190-2180 lbs
71.00-97.00; High Dressing 1860 lbs one @ 104.00; Low Dressing 1045-1735
lbs 45.00-78.00.
Cow/Calf Pairs: Medium and Large 1-2 1010-1245 lbs Young to Middle
Age Cows with calves under 300 lbs 1075.00-1300.00 per pair. Medium and
Large 1-2 980-1085 lbs Young to Middle Age Cows with calves over 300 lbs
1325.00-1400.00 per pair. Small 3 Young Age Cows 775 Young Age Cows with
calves under 300 lbs 405.00-775.00 per pair.
Hogs on Monday: Plant delivered weighted average. National Direct
Barrows & Gilts US 1 50-54% lean 250-300 lbs was not available. Sows
live price 300-450 lbs 25.64; 450-500 lbs 30.19; 500-550 lbs 32.93.
SC Grain on Tuesday: Corn was 3 to 7 cents higher; elevator bids
4.21-4.31, processor bids 4.52-4.96. Soybeans were steady to 8 cents
higher; elevator bids 8.45-8.94, processor bid 9.33, and export
9.38. New Crop Wheat was 2 to 4 cents higher; elevator bids 5.07-5.62.
Cotton on Tuesday. Southeast base price for 41-4/34 grade was 0.61
lower at 60.52.
