SC Farm Report on Wednesday

   Cattle at SC auctions on Tuesday:  There were too few comparable sales 
to establish trends this week.  Feeder Steers: Medium and Large 1-2 400-
500 lbs 147.50, 500-600 lbs 146.00-150.00.  Feeder Bulls: Medium 
and Large 1-2 400-500 lbs 132.50-137.50; 500-600 lbs 132.00-150.00.  
Feeder Heifers: Medium and Large 1-2 400-500 lbs 135.00-141.00; 500-600 
lbs 130.00-138.00.  Slaughter cows: Breakers 75-80% lean none reported; 
Boners 80-85% lean 80.00-100.00; Lean 85-90% lean 70.00-90.00; Lean Low 
Dressing 46.00-72.00.  Slaughter bulls: Average Dressing 915-1995 lbs 
87.00-116.00; High Dressing 1230 lbs 115.00; Low Dressing 1015-1715 lbs 
80.00-93.00.
   Cow/Calf Pairs:  Medium and Large 1-2 785-1055 lbs Young to Middle Age 
Cows with calves under 300 lbs 820-1330.00 per pair.  Medium and Large 2 
825 lbs Cow with calf over 300 lbs 960.00 per pair.  Small 3 860 lbs 
Middle Age Cow with calf under 300 lbs 425.00 per pair.
    Hogs on Tuesday:  Plant delivered weighted average. National Direct 
Barrows & Gilts US 1 50-54% lean 240-300 lbs was not reported.  Sows live 
price 300-450 lbs 44.25; 450-500 lbs 47.74; 500-550 lbs 52.58.
   SC Grain on Wednesday:  Corn was 7 to 8 cents higher; elevator bids 
7.68-8.03, processor bids 7.62-8.43.  Soybeans were 28 to 34 cents lower; 
elevator bids 15.62-16.12, processor bids 17.14, and export 17.37. Wheat 
bids were 7 cents lower to 7 cents higher; elevator bids 7.29-7.78.  
   Cotton on Wednesday. Southeast base price for 41-4/34 grade was 6.00 
lower at 124.66.
   Fruits & Vegetables:  Prices paid to SC growers at the Columbia State 
Farmers Market on Wednesday.  Beans bucrts KY type 30.00, Snap type
