SC Farm Report on Wednesday

   Cattle at SC auctions on Tuesday:  No comparisons made this week on 
feeder cattle due to limited comparable sales. Slaughter cows steady 
based on limited comparable sales. Slaughter bulls too few to trend.  
Feeder Steers: Medium and Large 1 400-500 lbs 340.00-342.50; 500-600 
lbs 292.50-325.00. Feeder Bulls: Medium and Large 1 400-500 lbs none 
reported; 500-600 lbs none reported. Feeder Heifers: Medium and Large 
1 400-500 lbs 290.00-312.50; 500-600 lbs 240.00-255.00. Slaughter cows: 
Breakers 75-80% lean 139.00-150.00; Boners 80-85% lean 139.00-151.00; 
Lean 85-90% lean 130.00-136.00; Lean Low Dressing 63.00-125.00. Slaughter 
bulls: High Dressing none reported; Average Dressing 1455-1885 lbs 160.00
-169.00; Low Dressing 1640 lbs 140.00. Cow/Calf Pairs: none reported.
   Hogs on Tuesday: Plant delivered weighted average.  National Direct 
Barrows & Gilts US 1 50-54% lean 240-300 lbs were 1.94 higher at 68.27. 
Sows live price 300-450 lbs 76.56; 450-500 lbs 82.85; 500-
550 lbs 83.70.
   SC Grain on Wednesday: Corn bids were 1-2 cents lower; elevator bids
4.73-5.48, processor bid 5.53. Soybeans were 7 cents lower; elevator 
bids 10.04-10.24, processor bids 10.59, and exports were 10.44. Wheat bids 
were 2-7 cents lower; elevator bids 5.06.  
   Cotton on Wednesday. Southeast base price for 41-4/34 grade was 50 cents
lower at 65.87.
  Fruits & Vegetables: Prices paid to SC growers at the Columbia State
