Clean energy will be sourced from ASE's new 96MWp Noordoostpolder solar facility in the Netherlands.
AMPYR Solar Europe (ASE) and ROCKWOOL have entered a ten-year solar power purchase agreement (PPA).
ROCKWOOL will receive more than 50GWh of renewable electricity each year, sourced from ASE's new 96 megawatts peak (MWp) Noordoostpolder solar facility in Flevoland province, the Netherlands.
With deliveries commencing in 2026, the new initiative aligns with ROCKWOOL's sustainability strategy and decarbonisation targets.
The clean energy will be backed by guarantees of origin and delivered through the public grid directly to ROCKWOOL's operations.
This agreement will allow ROCKWOOL to reduce its carbon footprint and its reliance on fossil fuels, and to stabilise its long-term energy costs.
AMPYR Solar Europe CEO Tarun Agrawal stated: aEURoeThis agreement with ROCKWOOL demonstrates the power of renewable energy PPAs to enable industrial leaders to achieve substantial decarbonisation while securing long-term energy security and cost predictability. We are proud to support ROCKWOOL on their path to sustainability.aEUR
The move towards renewable energy is not only beneficial for ROCKWOOL's production process but also supports the European energy transition.
ROCKWOOL technical director Jos Dumoulin stated: aEURoeThis is yet another step in the continuous process of reducing our ecological footprint. At ROCKWOOL, we believe in joint responsibility for a better future.
aEURoeBy investing in electrification and entering into smart collaborations with sustainable partners such as AMPYR Solar Europe, we are going the extra mile. Together, we are working towards a world where innovation and sustainability go hand in hand, for the generations of tomorrow.aEUR
