The Australian sharemarket lost ground on Wednesday, with the S&P/ASX 200 shedding 0.6 per cent to close at 8,538.6 points. The Trump administration's proposal to ramp up the tariffs on imported copper and pharmaceutical products weighed on local investors, with Sandfire Resources falling 3.5 per cent to $11.18 and CSL down 0.9 per cent at $243.71. However, Telix Pharmaceuticals defied the negative sentiment, advancing 5.6 per cent to $25.39..
