ASX set to dip as bull run hits US reporting season

Oct 19, 2025 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) --

Futures pricing suggests that Australian equities will shed about 0.1 per cent when the market opens on Monday, despite a positive lead from Wall Street. The second week of the US corporate reporting season is likely to be a key focus for investors and traders in the coming week, given the lack of new US economic data due to the ongoing government shutdown. Precious metals will also be under scrutiny, after the price of both gold and silver fell on Friday. The S&P/ASX 200 shed 0.81 per cent to close at 8,995.3 points on Friday..
