Fashion label Armedangels has signed a non-binding Letter of Intent (LoI) with Finnish textile material innovation company Spinnova to secure access to its fibre for use in future collections.
The agreement forms part of SpinnovaaEUR(TM)s wider strategy to establish a consortium that will increase the availability of Spinnova fibre within the textile industry.
According to the Finnish firm, the fibre is derived from sources such as wood pulp and waste materials, including leather, textiles and agricultural residues, and does not require dissolving chemicals in its production.
The fibre can be processed using standard textile manufacturing methods, including those used for cotton, and it can be blended with other fibres to create yarn and fabrics.
Spinnova fibre is suitable for the same uses as cotton, including trousers, denim, overshirts, jackets, T-shirts, and accessories.
