Asia Mostly Rises

Asia-Pacific markets mostly rose Tuesday after a mixed session on Wall Street that saw the Dow soar and the NASDAQ slip as investors rotated out of tech stocks.

In Japan, the Nikkei 225 lost 29.72 points, or 0.1%, to 38,444.48. Japan's 40-year government bond yield rose to an intraday high of 2.774%, its highest on record since 2007, LSEG data showed.

In Hong Kong, the Hang Seng index gained 66.29 points, or 0.3%, to 19,286.07.

In other markets

China's CSI 300 let go of 24.51 points, or 0.6%, to 3,790.03.

In Singapore, the Straits Times index sagged 16.19 points, or 0.4%. to 3,772.58

In Korea, the Kospi index edged lower 0.59 points to 2,496.81.

In Taiwan, the Taiex index tumbled 282.95 points, or 1.2%, to 22,514.57

In New Zealand, the NZX 50 added 59.19 points, or 0.5%, to 12,943.57.

In Australia, the ASX 200 slumped 17.73 points, or 0.2%, to 8,213.27
