Goldman Sachs analyst Joseph Briggs contends that artificial intelligence can potentially automate tasks that account for 25 per cent of all work hours in the US. He notes that the prospect of job losses on such a scale has led to fears that AI will replace humans in the same way that machines replaced horses, although he claims that the job market will not face a "permanent" rise in unemployment. However, this is on the proviso that "human labour maintains a competitive advantage in certain aspects of production"..
