(MENAFN - Trend News Agency) DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, April 26 Tajik Ambassadorto Azerbaijan Ilhom Abdurahmon and Executive Director of AzerbaijanInvestment Company OJSC (AIC) Ulvi Mansurov discussed investment inTajikistan's aluminum industry, Trend reports.
"During the meeting, the parties addressed the potential ofcooperation in the commercial, economic, and investment domains, aswell as opportunities for investment and expansion of directcooperation with TALCO OJSC (Tajik Aluminum Company), and expressedtheir willingness to strengthen further cooperation," theinformation says.
Additionally, in November, Tajik Economic Development and TradeMinister Zavqizoda Zavqi and Azerbaijani Economy Minister MikailJabbarov signed agreements on major investment projects. Among themwas an investment agreement under which Azerbaijan will invest inincreasing the production capacity of TALCO.
TALCO is the largest aluminum plant in the country. Its designcapacity is 517,000 tons of aluminum per year.
To note, according to the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan,the trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Tajikistan in 2023amounted to $6.1 million, which is 2.98 percent higher than in 2022($5.9 million).
