The brandaEUR(TM)s owner, V3 Gourmet, has chosen TokyoaEUR(TM)s Ginza district for the debut site.
Coffee chain Bacha Coffee has opened its first shop in Japan, and is aiming to build a network of 50 outlets in the country by 2035, as reported by Nikkei Asia.
The brandaEUR(TM)s owner, V3 Gourmet, has chosen TokyoaEUR(TM)s Ginza district for the debut site.
A second Tokyo location is scheduled to open in the first half of 2026, before the chain moves into other Japanese cities, including Osaka and Kyoto.
Bacha Coffee president and CEO Taha Bouqdib stated: "From now to 10 years, I'm hoping to have a maximum of around 40 to 50 stores.
"I think 50 stores in Japan is reasonable - not too big, not too small.aEUR
The Ginza store measures 377mA and includes a coffee boutique, a takeaway counter and a cafA(C) area.
The outletaEUR(TM)s interior uses geometric trellising and carved cedar wood details.
The chain sells coffees sourced from around the world, alongside food and beverage options.
It is developing items specifically for Japan.
Bouqdib stated: "My first dream is for Japanese people to become very familiar with Bacha Coffee, so that when they want to enjoy great coffee at home, they think of opening their kitchen and having Bacha Coffee.aEUR
Launched in 2019 and tracing its origins to Morocco, Bacha is also looking to open stores in Beijing and Bangkok by the end of 2025 and to introduce its hotel coffee business in Japan early in 2026.
Bouqdib stated: "Today, when clients visit five-star hotels, prices are so high globally, and clients don't want coffee sourced from supermarkets ... hotels now are very happy to have brands that pair well with five-star hotels.aEUR
V3 Gourmet also runs premium tea chain TWG Tea. In Japan, V3 has partnered with a unit of the railway group Tokyu, which has retail operations.
Bouqdib, who is also president and CEO of V3 Gourmet, commented: "This development of TWG Tea was slow, but with the right client, the business is very stable. It is doing well.
"We find that this marriage [with Tokyu] is working well. We were ready for a second baby."
In 2024, Bacha Coffee launched its first South Korean store in the Cheongdam-dong ward of Seoul, as reported by World Coffee Portal.
