Nestle executive Andrew Lawrey says a prolonged Middle East conflict could trigger a possible shortage of plastic packaging used for food later in the year, with Nestle the maker of Kit Kat, Nescafe and Allen's lollies. Lawrey says the possible shortage highlights the need to have a circular economy on soft plastics, while he says Nestle is trying to avoid passing on the higher costs that have arisen as a result of the Middle East conflict to consumers. It generated sales of $2.84bn in fiscal 2025, with its coffee sales up by 15.7 per cent..
