The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission announced in December that it will sue contractors Downer EDI and Ventia Services for alleged price fixing. The allegations involve the supply of services to the Defence Department between April 2019 and August 2022, with the share prices of both companies sliding when the action was announced. However, despite the price-fixing action, Downer EDI and Ventia Services have been awarded contracts with the Defence Department that are worth a combined $5.75 billion..
