Farmers state that a lack of diesel because of the war in Iran may mean that they are not able to plant their winter crops. Western Australian grain grower Brad Jones says he is hoping to 'crop' 11,500 hectares this year, with seeding needing 110,000 litres of diesel. However, he only has around 20,000 litres and has not been unable to source any more from his usual suppliers. Barkly Royal Ag provides fuel and other farm supplies to around 100 WA growers, and the company that supplies its fuel has not been able to get any diesel from Viva Energy since 6 March..
