Feb 16, 2025 (The Australian - ABIX via COMTEX) --
Wayne Gordon suggests that the Australian dollar could fall to as low as $US0.60 in the short term, before rising to $US0.68 by the end of the year, with Gordon being UBS Global Wealth Management's executive director of commodities and FX. He says this is partly because the Reserve Bank will not cut interest rates by as much as people think, and because commodity prices are expected to continue to be strong. While the market expects the RBA to cut rates by up to 100 basis points over the course of the year, Gordon is tipping a maximum cut of 75 basis points, with a 50 basis point cut over the year the most likely outcome..
