Glencore CEO Gary Nagle says multiple requests from Australian investment funds was a key driver of the commodity trading and mining company's decision to seek a secondary listing on the Australian sharemarket. Nagle says Glencore expects to begin trading on the ASX by October, and he is confident that it will quickly qualify for inclusion in the S&P/ASX100 Index. He notes that Glencore would be an alternative for Australian investors who are seeking exposure to copper, given that BHP and Rio Tinto are now the only major ASX-listed producers in this sector. Glencore does not intend to raise any capital via its listing in Australia..
