(MENAFN - Trend News Agency) BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 25. Hungary expressesinterest in expanding economic cooperation with Azerbaijan beyondthe energy sector, Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and TradePeÌter SzijjaÌrtoÌ said during the Azerbaijan-Hungary Business Forumin Baku, Trend reports.
"Hungary boasts a thriving pharmaceutical sector, and we arekeen to see esteemed companies like the globally renowned GedeonRichter and Egis Gyogyszergyar Plc (prominent in Central Europe)and potentially Celitron Medical Technologies Ltd. venture intobusiness opportunities in Azerbaijan, potentially within specialeconomic zones," he said.
According to him, Azerbaijan could benefit from Hungary'sexpertise in water resource management, with several specializedcompanies within the delegation. Hungary is also prepared toundertake construction projects in Azerbaijan, particularly in theliberated regions like Karabakh and East Zangezur.
"We have consistently advocated for peace and consider the swiftreintegration of these territories crucial. Additionally, ourtechnology firms are prepared to contribute to this endeavor,particularly as the liberated lands present opportunities forimplementing smart city, smart village, and green energyinitiatives," the minister noted.
He also emphasized great prospects for cooperation in tourism,science, and culture.
To note, Baku hosted the 10th session of the Joint Commission onEconomic Cooperation between the governments of Azerbaijan andHungary.
The one-on-one meeting was attended by a delegation headed byHungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade PeÌter SzijjaÌrtoÌ anda delegation headed by Azerbaijani Minister of Labor and SocialProtection Sahil Babayev. The parties discussed the present statusof relations between the two nations and the topics slated for themeeting agenda.
