The completion of the installation process, including pile driving and attaching additional components, will continue in the coming days.

The installation of the jacket platform for the Belal gas field, located on the border between Iran and Qatar, has been successfully completed.

The platform, weighing 3,100 tonnes (t) and standing 75m tall, was installed using the float-over method by the Sadra-5000 installation vessel at a depth of 65m in the Persian Gulf, according to a report by Shana News Agency.

During his visit to Bushehr Province, President Masoud Pezeshkian issued the order for its transportation and installation at the Belal gas field location.

The development of the Belal gas field, led by the National Iranian Oil Company and supervised by Pars Oil and Gas Company, has been awarded to Petropars as the general contractor.

The Belal gas field is located at the border of Iran and Qatar, 40km east of South Pars and 1km away from the Belal oilfield.

The contract for the development of the Belal gas field project was signed on 14 September 2019.

The Belal gas field will be managed by the Pars Oil and Gas Company, while the Belal oilfield is managed by Iranian Offshore Oil Company.

The target production from the field is 500 million cubic feet per day of gas and 15,000 barrels per day of condensate, to be transferred through the interphase pipeline to platform 12A and the phase 12 refinery.

The project involves drilling and completing eight wells including one appraisal/exploration well, one learning well and six development wells with an average length of 4,200m.
