Minister Commends Metering Firm for Bridging Energy Gap

Mar 19, 2026 (Daily Trust/All Africa Global Media via COMTEX) --

The Minister of State for Industry, Trade and Investment, Senator John Owan Enoh, has commended Mojec International Limited and its renewable energy company V-Solaris for strengthening the country's electricity infrastructure and expanding access to sustainable energy solutions.

The Minister gave the commendation during a visit to the Mojec/V-Solaris exhibition stand at the West Africa Industrialization, Manufacturing and Trade Summit and Exhibition 2026 held in Lagos.

"I would like to sincerely commend the outstanding and consistent efforts of Mojec International Limited and its renewable energy subsidiary, V-Solaris. The organisations have demonstrated remarkable dedication and professionalism in advancing smart metering solutions and renewable energy development across Nigeria," he said.

He stressed that the firm's commitment in improving electricity distribution, reducing estimated billing, and deploying renewable energy solutions reflects a strong commitment to innovation and sustainable development in the power sector.

"Through the deployment of solar systems and implementation of mini-grid projects, Mojec and V-Solaris continue to make meaningful contributions towards sustainable energy access and improved energy management," he added.

The Minister described the companies' achievements as a clear reflection of vision, integrity, and determination to strengthen Nigeria's energy infrastructure.

"This unrelenting commitment to excellence is highly commendable. The progress achieved so far clearly reflects the organizations' determination to support Nigeria's energy development. Please keep up the excellent work," he said.

The Group Managing Director of Mojec International, Chantelle Abdul, highlighted the company's longstanding contributions to Nigeria's power sector through local manufacturing, smart metering innovation, and renewable energy development.

According to Abdul, the firm has supplied millions of electricity meters to distribution companies nationwide, helping to significantly reduce the challenge of estimated billing across the country.

"Mojec develops smart meters and Advanced Metering Infrastructure that enable remote monitoring of electricity usage, accurate billing, and better power management," she said.

She explained that the firm has expanded its energy solutions portfolio through V-Solaris, which focuses on renewable energy projects including solar power systems and mini-grids designed to provide electricity to underserved and off-grid communities.

"Through V-Solaris, we are delivering solar solutions, developing mini-grids, and supporting embedded power systems that improve energy reliability for residential estates and industries," she stated.

She disclosed that the firm has deployed nearly four million meters across Nigeria since the privatization of the electricity sector, working with most electricity distribution companies in the country.

"In 2024 alone, the company deployed over 300,000 meters, with more than 240,000 already installed," she said.
