The NSW government has announced it will offer subsidies to eligible commercial and industrial customers that want to install electricity storage batteries. Under an incentive scheme that will take effect from 1 September, it will offer discounts of up to 40 per cent, with the scheme also available to apartment owner-corporations installing shared batteries. NSW Energy Minister Penny Sharpe says the scheme will help more people to cut their power bills, while it comes just days after the federal government announced plans for a 20 per cent discount for businesses installing rooftop solar-powered generation.
