An email breach has revealed that One Nation would abolish the petroleum resource rent tax and replace it with an 'across-the-board' royalty for oil and gas that is produced for domestic use or exported. The expected windfall that gas exporters are going to reap as a result of the Middle East conflict has led to calls within federal parliament for a new tax on gas exports, with opposition frontbencher Andrew Hastie having said recently that the Liberal Party should be open to the idea. The leaked One Nation document made mention of the fact that Norway had used oil and gas revenue to create a sovereign wealth fund, and that it is something that Australia needs to consider adopting..
