Myomo Slides 29% Despite Record Revenue and Pipeline Growth
Myomo Inc. (NYSE: MYO) dropped 29.34%, leading the PRISM Emerging MedDevices Index, following the release of its Q1 2025 financial results. The company reported a 162% year-over-year increase in revenue to $9.8 million, with 182 MyoPro units recognized--nearly double the prior-year figure. Gross margin improved to 67.2%, and a record 700 new patients were added to the pipeline, a 42% increase. Medicare Part B accounted for 59% of total revenue, and average selling price rose 31% year-over-year.
Despite the revenue growth, the company faced pressure from a 31% increase in cost per pipeline add, disruptions in lead generation due to social media algorithm changes, and a 9% decline in backlog. Operating expenses rose 64% year-over-year, driven by higher payroll, engineering, and advertising costs. First-quarter operating loss remained at $3.5 million, and Myomo expects Q2 revenue to slightly decline sequentially before growth resumes in the second half of 2025.
