Perennial to establish Shanghai's first foreign-owned general hospital

The anticipated investment for the Perennial General Hospital Shanghai stands at $69.6m.

Singapore-based integrated healthcare and real estate company Perennial Holdings has entered a strategic collaboration with the Lujiazui Administrative Bureau of the China Pilot Free Trade Zone and Shanghai Lujiazui to set up Shanghai's inauguralA'wholly foreign-owned' tertiary general hospital, Perennial General Hospital Shanghai, in China.

Perennial will incorporate a foreign medical investment firm in the Lujiazui District to set up this hospital.

The anticipated investment for this medical facility stands at 500m yuan ($69.6m). The hospital will have an expected capacity of 500 beds.

The construction of the hospital is said to adhere to international standards as well as global service benchmarks, featuring advanced medical equipment and technology.

Besides general medical areas, the hospital will have aEURoecentres of excellence with specialisationsaEUR, including oncology, otolaryngology, orthopaedics, and cardiovascular conditions.

It aims to provide a 'garden-style' environment and 'personalised care' to ensure a safe patient experience.

Furthermore, Perennial General Hospital Shanghai is designed to be a hub for worldwide medical exchange, promoting partnership and clinical expertise sharing.

Perennial Holdings claims to have five transit-oriented developments (TODs) centred on healthcare that integrate medical and eldercare as well as hospitality components and are linked to railway stations in Chinese cities, such as Tianjin, Chengdu, Kunming, Chongqing, and XiaEUR(TM)an.

The company operates more than 25,000 beds within healthcare and elderly care establishments.

This includes approximately 16,000 beds that are currently in use and an additional 9,000 beds that are planned or under development. These facilities are spread across 15 cities in Singapore and China.
