LAVAL, QC, Sep. 22, 2026 (CNW Group via COMTEX) --
On September 21, 2026, an inmate from the Federal Training Centre, died while in our custody of apparent natural causes. The individual's name has been anonymized to comply with a court-ordered publication ban to protect the identity of the victim(s).
At the time of death, the inmate was 75 years old and had been serving a sentence of five years and four months, which commenced on July 3, 2023.
The inmate's next of kin have been notified.
As in all cases involving the death of an inmate, Correctional Service Canada (CSC) will review the circumstances.
CSC policy requires that the police and the coroner be notified.
