Transport Minister Catherine King on Monday updated her register of interests to show that she has accepted a lifetime membership to Qantas' platinum frequent flyer rewards tier. Some of its benefits include free access to first and business class lounges across the world and priority upgrades and seat selection, while a lifetime membership to the tier requires 75,000 status credits, or 7,500 Sydney to Melbourne flights on a discount economy ticket. King's revelation that she accepted a lifetime membership to Qantas' platinum frequent flyer rewards tier comes less than two years after a number of MPs gave up their membership to the Qantas' VIP lounge after a furore over flight upgrades and special treatment for politicians..
