Thedelegation of Turkmenistan emphasized its efforts in the field ofsustainable energy and effective management of natural resources atthe events of the UN Economic Commission for Europe's (UNECE)Sustainable Energy Week in Geneva, Trend reports via Turkmenistan'sForeign Ministry.
The Turkmen side noted that as part of its economic developmentstrategy, the country is actively working on diversification of theenergy sector, introduction of innovative technologies, andimplementation of renewable energy projects. These steps are aimedat ensuring sustainable growth and efficient use of naturalresources.
Ambassador Vepa Hajiyev, Permanent Representative of the countryto the UN Office in Geneva, also focused on the key directions ofTurkmenistan's economic policy and emphasized the importance of thecountry's upcoming chairmanship of the UN Special Program for theEconomies of Central Asia (SPECA) in 2025.
The session culminated with a discussion in which theparticipants considered ways to further develop energy cooperationand shared experience in implementing sustainable developmentprojects.
To note, the participants of SPECA are Afghanistan, Azerbaijan,Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, andUzbekistan.
