(MENAFN - Trend News Agency) ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, April 24. Turkmenistanis systematically increasing the potential of its fuel and energysector, Trend reports.
This was stated by the President of Turkmenistan, SerdarBerdimuhamedov, in an address to the participants of theInternational Forum to Attract Foreign Investments inTurkmenistan's Energy Sector, which began its work today inParis.
"We are consistently and systematically increasing the potentialof the fuel and energy sector by investing significant funds inthis area in accordance with the goals of the state's energystrategy, which allows us to significantly increase the return onexploration and increase the volume of oil and gas production andrefining," he said.
He noted that in order to achieve these goals, the countryintends to further increase the competitiveness of the productsproduced by the complex and achieve their compliance withinternational standards by improving quality, introducing the bestscientific developments and advanced technologies into production,and following the requirements of environmental safety in thedevelopment of hydrocarbon resources.
"The international forum will allow us to consider the problemsof developing hydrocarbon deposits, the prospects for exportingnatural gas through gas pipelines, and priorities for investmentsin the geochemical sector. Its participants, in particularspecialized specialists, will be able to discuss the creation ofnew production clusters in the oil and gas industry, electric powerindustry, construction, and other industrial sectors, as well asoffer relevant ideas," Berdimuhamedov added.
Meanwhile, the purpose of this event is to increase the chancesof attracting foreign direct investment in all segments of theenergy sector of Turkmenistan and improve the regional debate onthe future sustainable development of energy.
