SC Farm Report on Wednesday

   Cattle at SC auctions on Tuesday:  Compared to last week no comparisons 
made on feeder cattle due to limited comparable sales, slaughter cows 
unevenly steady, slaughter bulls too few to trend. Moderate offering of 
plain to average quality cattle with active buyer participation. Feeder 
Steers: Medium and Large 1 400-500 lbs 290.00; 500-600 lbs 250.00. Feeder 
Bulls: Medium and Large 1 400-500 lbs 292.50-295.00; 500-600 lbs none 
reported. Feeder Heifers: Medium and Large 1 400-500 lbs none reported; 
500-600 lbs none reported. Slaughter cows: Breakers 75-80% lean 117.00-
128.00; Boners 80-85% lean 115.00-126.00; Lean 85-90% lean 107.00-
122.00; Lean Low Dressing 95.00-105.00. Slaughter bulls: High Dressing 
1960 lbs 152.00; Average Dressing 1300-1950 lbs 133.00-148.00; Low Dressing 
1505 lbs 122.00. Cow/Calf Pairs: Medium and Large 1 1210-1265 lbs Middle 
Aged Cows with calves under 300 lbs 1925.00-2225.00 per pair. Medium and 
Large 1 1125 lbs Middle Aged Cows with Calf over 300 lbs 2275.00 per pair. 
   Hogs on Tuesday: Plant delivered weighted average.  National Direct 
Barrows & Gilts US 1 50-54% lean 240-300 lbs were not reported. 
Sows live price 300-450 lbs 63.34; 450-500 lbs 69.51; 500-550 lbs 70.36.
   SC Grain on Wednesday: Corn was 2 cents lower; elevator bids
4.31-4.96, processor bids 4.86-4.91. Soybeans were 2 to 3 cents lower; 
elevator bids 9.77-9.87, processor bids 10.13, and exports 10.37.  
Wheat bids were mostly 11 cents lower, one location 23 cents higher; 
elevator bids 4.81.  
   Cotton on Wednesday. Southeast base price for 41-4/34 grade was 14 cents 
higher at 65.91.
