SC Farm Report on Wednesday

   Cattle at SC auctions on Tuesday:  Compared to last week no comparisons 
made on feeder cattle due to limited comparable sales, slaughter cows 
unevenly steady, slaughter bulls 1.00 lower based on limited sales. Moderate
offering of plain to average quality cattle with active buyer participation. 
Feeder Steers: Medium and Large 1 400-500 lbs 290.00; 500-600 lbs 250.00-
255.00. Feeder Bulls: Medium and Large 1 400-500 lbs 282.50-295.00; 500-
600 lbs none reported. Feeder Heifers: Medium and Large 1 400-500 lbs 245.00
-257.50; 500-600 lbs none reported. Slaughter cows: Breakers 75-80% lean 
112.00-128.00; Boners 80-85% lean 114.00-137.00; Lean 85-90% lean 107.00-
119.00; Lean Low Dressing 72.00-103.00. Slaughter bulls: High Dressing 
1960 lbs none reported; Average Dressing 1000-2085 lbs 132.00-150.00; Low 
Dressing 1505 lbs none reported. Cow/Calf Pairs: Medium and Large 2 985 
lbs Middle Aged Cows with calves under 300 lbs 1125.00 per pair. 
   Hogs on Tuesday: Plant delivered weighted average.  National Direct 
Barrows & Gilts US 1 50-54% lean 240-300 lbs were 11 cents higher with a 
weighted average price of 65.42. Sows live price 300-450 lbs 60.73; 450-
500 lbs 67.80; 500-550 lbs 68.15.
   SC Grain on Wednesday: Corn was 3 cents higher; elevator bids
4.35-5.00, processor bids 4.90-4.95. Soybeans were 8 cents lower; 
elevator bids 9.60-9.70, processor bids 10.15, and exports where 10.20.  
Wheat bids were 2 to 3 cents higher; elevator bids 4.92.  
   Cotton on Wednesday. Southeast base price for 41-4/34 grade was 1.03
higher at 65.91.
  Fruits & Vegetables: Prices paid to SC growers at the Columbia State
