SC Farm Report on Wednesday

   Cattle at SC auctions on Tuesday: Compared to last week no comparisons 
made on feeder cattle due to limited comparable sales, slaughter cows 
steady, slaughter bulls too few to trend. Moderate offering of average 
quality cattle with active buyer participation. Feeder Steers: Medium and 
Large 1 400-500 lbs 345.00-357.50; 500-600 lbs 300.00. Feeder Bulls: 
Medium and Large 1 400-500 lbs none reported; 500-600 lbs 290.00. Feeder 
Heifers: Medium and Large 1 400-500 lbs 240.00-265.00; 500-600 lbs 
230.00-232.50. Slaughter cows: Breakers 75-80% lean 115.00-125.00; 
Boners 80-85% lean 114.00-120.00; Lean 85-90% lean 107.00-113.00; 
Lean Low Dressing 70.00-105.00. Slaughter bulls: High Dressing 1560 
lbs 158.00; Average Dressing 1790 lbs 139.00; Low Dressing 1200-1965 lbs 
99.00-120.00. Cow/Calf Pairs: Medium and Large 1 1200-1210 lbs Young to 
Middle Aged Cows with Calves under 300 lbs 1900.00-1950.00 
   Hogs on Tuesday: Plant delivered weighted average.  National Direct 
Barrows & Gilts US 1 50-54% lean 240-300 lbs were not reported. Sows live 
price 300-450 lbs 43.97; 450-500 lbs 52.40; 500-550 lbs 52.04.
   SC Grain on Wednesday: Corn was steady to 2 cents lower; elevator bids
4.43-5.18, processor bids 4.98-5.28. Soybeans were 1 cent higher; 
elevator bids 9.65-9.75, processor bids 10.20, and exports where 10.50.  
Wheat bids were mixed 1 cent higher to 2 cents lower; elevator bids 5.03.  
   Cotton on Wednesday. Southeast base price for 41-4/34 grade was 67 cents
higher at 68.40.
  Fruits & Vegetables: Prices paid to SC growers at the Columbia State
