SC Farm Report on Thursday

   Cattle at SC auctions on Wednesday: Compared to last week no 
comparisons made due to limited comparable sales. Light to moderate 
offering of plain to average quality cattle with active buyer 
participation. Feeder Steers: Medium and Large 1 400-500 lbs 317.50; 500-
600 lbs 297.50.  Feeder Bulls: Medium and Large 1 400-500 lbs 320.00-
325.00; 500-600 lbs none reported. Feeder Heifers: Medium and Large 1 
400-500 250.00-270.00; 500-600 lbs 237.50-257.50. Slaughter Cows: 
Breakers 75-80% lean 105.00-119.00; Boners 80-85% lean 115.00-128.00; 
Lean 85-90% lean 103.00-107.00; Lean Low Dressing 70.00-100.00. Slaughter 
bulls: Average Dressing 1250-2295 lbs 129.00-150.00; High Dressing none 
reported; Low Dressing 970-1635 lbs 112.00-126.50. 
   Cow/Calf Pairs: Medium and Large 1 930-1135 lbs Young to Middle Aged 
Cows with calf under 300 lbs 1800.00-2175.00 per pair. 
   Hogs on Wednesday: Plant delivered weighted average.  National Direct 
Barrows & Gilts US 1 50-54% lean 240-300 lbs were not reported. Sows live 
price 300-450 lbs 43.02; 450-500 lbs 50.20; 500-550 lbs 53.43.
   SC Grain on Thursday: Corn bids were 5 to 6 cents lower; elevator bids 
4.36-5.13, processor bids 4.91-5.23.  Soybean bids were steady; elevator 
bids 9.65-9.75, processor bids 10.20, and exports at 10.50. Wheat bids 
were 5 to 6 cents lower; elevator bids 4.98.  
   Cotton on Wednesday. Southeast base price for 41-4/34 grade was 0.06
lower at 68.34.
   Fruits & Vegetables: Prices paid to SC growers at the Columbia State
