SC Farm Report on Wednesday

   Cattle at SC auctions on Tuesday: Compared to last week no comparisons 
made on feeder cattle due to limited comparable sales, slaughter cows 
1.00 higher, slaughter bulls too few to trend. Moderate offering of average 
to plain quality cattle with active buyer participation. Feeder Steers: 
Medium and Large 1 400-500 lbs 325.00-345.00; 500-600 lbs 284.00-300.00. 
Feeder Bulls: Medium and Large 1 400-500 lbs 290.00-365.00; 500-600 lbs 
270.00. Feeder Heifers: Medium and Large 1 400-500 lbs 252.50-270; 500
-600 lbs 232.50-245.00. Slaughter cows: Breakers 75-80% lean 118.00-
128.00; Boners 80-85% lean 115.00-121.00; Lean 85-90% lean 100.00-113.00; 
Lean Low Dressing 60.00-102.00. Slaughter bulls: High Dressing none 
reported; Average Dressing 1665-2105 lbs 144.00-154.00; Low Dressing 1230
-1355 lbs 105.00-125.00. Cow/Calf Pairs: Medium and Large 1 1110-1150 lbs 
Young to Middle Aged Cows with Calves under 300 lbs 1550.00-1975.00. 
   Hogs on Tuesday: Plant delivered weighted average.  National Direct 
Barrows & Gilts US 1 50-54% lean 240-300 lbs were 60.13. Sows live 
price 300-450 lbs 41.21; 450-500 lbs 48.27; 500-550 lbs 50.58.
   SC Grain on Wednesday: Corn was 6 cents lower; elevator bids
4.42-5.07, processor bids 4.97-5.17. Soybeans were 25 cents lower; 
elevator bids 9.21-9.31, processor bids 9.81, and exports where 9.91.  
Wheat bids were mixed 4 to 6 cents lower; elevator bids 4.81.  
   Cotton on Wednesday. Southeast base price for 41-4/34 grade was 61 cents
lower at 66.33.
  Fruits & Vegetables: Prices paid to SC growers at the Columbia State
