SC Farm Report on Thursday

   Cattle at SC auctions on Wednesday: Compared to last week feeder cattle 
sold without comparisons due to limited sales. Slaughter cows were steady 
to 2.00 higher. Slaughter Bulls steady. Moderate offering of Plain to 
Average quality cattle with active buyer participation. Feeder Steers: 
Medium and Large 1 400-500 lbs 320.00-335.00; 500-600 lbs none reported.  
Feeder Bulls: Medium and Large 1 400-500 lbs 320.00-325.00; 500-600 lbs 
none reported. Feeder Heifers: Medium and Large 1 400-500 250.00-300.00; 
500-600 lbs 260.00-270.00. Slaughter Cows: Breakers 75-80% lean 110.00-
121.00; Boners 80-85% lean 112.00-132.00; Lean 85-90% lean 105.00-115.00; 
Lean Low Dressing 70.00-100.00. Slaughter bulls: Average Dressing 1370-
2180 lbs 135.00-137.00; High Dressing none reported; Low Dressing 1315-
2055 lbs 111.00-129.00. Cow/Calf Pairs: Medium and Large 2 905-1070 
Young to Middle Aged Cows with calf under 300 lbs 1475.00-2425.00 per pair. 
   Hogs on Wednesday: Plant delivered weighted average.  National Direct 
Barrows & Gilts US 1 50-54% lean 240-300 lbs were 3.04 lower at 57.09. 
Sows live price 300-450 lbs 40.42; 450-500 lbs 47.55; 500-550 lbs 48.50.
   SC Grain on Thursday: Corn bids were 3 to 4 cents higher; elevator bids
4.45-5.10, processor bids 5.00-5.20.  Soybean bids where 11 to 12 cents higher; 
elevator bids 9.33-9.43, processor bids 9.93, and exports at 10.03. Wheat 
bids were mixed, 8 cents lower to 4 cents higher; elevator bids 4.73.  
     Cotton on Wednesday. Southeast base price for 41-4/34 grade was .17
lower at 66.16.
