SC Farm Report on Wednesday

   Cattle at SC auctions on Tuesday: Compared to last week no comparisons 
made due to limited comparable sales. Moderate offering of average to 
plain quality cattle with active buyer participation. Feeder Steers: 
Medium and Large 1 400-500 lbs 347.50-375.00; 500-600 lbs 295.00. Feeder 
Bulls: Medium and Large 1 400-500 lbs none reported; 500-600 lbs none 
reported. Feeder Heifers: Medium and Large 1 400-500 lbs 315.00; 500-600 
lbs 280.00-282.50. Slaughter cows: Breakers 75-80% lean 134.00-149.00; 
Boners 80-85% lean 131.00-151.00; Lean 85-90% lean 121.00-125.00; Lean 
Low Dressing 90.00-110.00. Slaughter bulls: High Dressing 1970-2190 lbs 
165.00-169.00; Average Dressing 1135-1915 lbs 142.50-158.00; Low Dressing 
none reported. Cow/Calf Pairs:  Medium and Large 1 1215 lbs Young to 
Middle Aged Cows with calf under 300 lbs 2200.00 per pair.
   Hogs on Tuesday: Plant delivered weighted average.  National Direct 
Barrows & Gilts US 1 50-54% lean 240-300 lbs were not reported. Sows live 
price 300-450 lbs 54.17; 450-500 lbs 62.88; 500-550 lbs 64.30.
   SC Grain on Wednesday: Corn bids were 12 cents higher; elevator bids
5.02-5.67, processor bid 5.72. Soybeans were 15 cents higher; 
elevator bids 10.30-10.60, processor bids 10.85, and exports where 10.90.  
Wheat bids were 12 to 17 cents higher; elevator bids 5.02.  
   Cotton on Wednesday. Southeast base price for 41-4/34 grade was 32 cents
lower at 65.16.
  Fruits & Vegetables: Prices paid to SC growers at the Columbia State 
Farmers Market on Wednesday.
