SC Farm Report on Wednesday

   Cattle at SC auctions on Tuesday: No comparisons made this week due 
to limited comparable sales. Light offering of average to plain quality 
cattle due to wet conditions in the area with active buyer participation. 
Feeder Steers: Medium and Large 1 400-500 lbs 327.50-330.00; 500-600 lbs 
none reported. Feeder Bulls: Medium and Large 1 400-500 lbs none 
reported; 500-600 lbs none reported. Feeder Heifers: Medium and Large 1 
400-500 lbs 297.50; 500-600 lbs none reported. Slaughter cows: Breakers 
75-80% lean 136.00; Boners 80-85% lean 136.00-149.00; Lean 85-90% lean 
131.00-135.00; Lean Low Dressing 70.00-117.00. Slaughter bulls: High 
Dressing 1880 lbs 177.00; Average Dressing 1125-1640 lbs 150.00-165.00; 
Low Dressing 900 lbs 115.00. Cow/Calf Pairs: none reported.
   Hogs on Tuesday: Plant delivered weighted average.  National Direct 
Barrows & Gilts US 1 50-54% lean 240-300 lbs were 3.39 lower at 60.89. 
Sows live price 300-450 lbs 67.42; 450-500 lbs 76.96; 500-550 lbs 75.03.
   SC Grain on Wednesday: Corn bids were 6 cents higher; elevator bids
4.95-5.60, processor bid 5.65. Soybeans were 15-16 cents lower; elevator bids 
9.97-10.27, processor bids 10.62, and exports were 10.52. Wheat bids were 
mixed, 3 cents lower to 6 cents higher; elevator bids 5.14.  
   Cotton on Wednesday. Southeast base price for 41-4/34 grade was 7 cents
higher at 66.47.
  Fruits & Vegetables: Prices paid to SC growers at the Columbia State
