Vytelle Appoints Alastair Rayner as Southern Australia Strategic Account Manager

Mar 03, 2026 (MarketLine via COMTEX) --

Vytelle appointed livestock consultant Alastair Rayner as Strategic Account Manager for Southern Australia.

Vytelle has appointed respected livestock consultant Alastair Rayner as Strategic Account Manager for Southern Australia.

The move reinforces its focus on helping beef producers speed up genetic gain and long term productivity.

Alastair has more than 30 years' experience across Australia's beef industry. He brings expertise in genetics, breeding strategy and producer advisory following a career that's spanned government research, industry organisations and commercial agtech, alongside his independent consultancy, RaynerAg. Adding to his industry leadership, Alastair is a Councillor of the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW and a familiar name on Beef Central where he's written genetics-focused articles exploring breeding strategy, maternal productivity, temperament, longevity and selection trade-offs in commercial beef systems.

Alastair lives in Calderwood on the NSW South Coast where he will be based, well-positioned to support growth with Vytelle's current customers and the expansion of Vytelle's southern satellite network and on farm customers. He'll work closely with seedstock and commercial producers, supporting clients to integrate advanced reproductive technologies and accelerate genetic gain within their herds.

Alastair said the chance to drive long term genetic progress for producers attracted him to Vytelle.

"The Vytelle team has demonstrated a clear opportunity for producers to build their genetic base and it's an exciting space that offers the potential for permanent productivity gains across the industry," he said.

"It's a particularly exciting time right now with genomic tests and new EBVs giving the chance to identify some really high performing animals.

"Being able to rapidly increase the population of these animals fand speed up the rate of genetic gain is incredible and we can work on finding the best, most suitable animals for an environment and use these to have a much better herd that becomes more profitable."

Alastair said collaboration is key to his approach with producers in his new role.

"I've been working in extension and advisory roles for 30 years in the beef industry and I really believe in working as a partnership," he said.

"I love working with producers and being part of the process they go through on farm to get better results.  I like to share ideas and listen to suggestions for ways to make things work which could be used by others."

Lisa Rumsfeld, Vytelle Vice President of Global Sales, welcomed the appointment.

"We're so happy to have Alastair join the team, he brings a huge amount of knowledge and relationships that will help grow both existing and new partnerships," Lisa said.

Rayner's appointment reinforces Vytelle's continued investment in supporting producers with data-driven genetic solutions designed to improve sustainability and profitability across the beef supply chain.
